Backup Failure Kills Journalspace

Journalspace.com has fallen and can’t get up. They tell on their site that their whole database was overwritten by malicious act or some sort of bug. It doesn’t matter how they lost the data, what matters is that they thought RAID was as good as having backup and are now out of business for their failure to backup.

And the hard work of all their users being lost makes their users innocent victims. They thought that their data was secure at Journalspace but now know it wasn’t. How many Journalspace accounts had a backup of their own? How many have their data backed up so they can recover? Hundreds and thousands of blogs all wiped out because of no backup. How do you cover yourself for just such an issue? Do you have a good copy? Are your online sites at risk? It is of course. Journalspace wasn’t an insignificant provider and they crashed. You need to be sure that if bad things happen your online presence can recover.

It’s as simple as this. Protect your data with a backup. Get your blogs backed up. Back up the data from your websites. Back up your PC’s. Just take the time to do it right and right now. And tape, portable drives, cdroms, etc can’t be trusted. They all use recordable media which isn’t permenant, or well protected in your own hands. You need to use an online backup with a provider that specializes in storing data. The minimum features you should require is the capacity to do incremental backups. That to keep your data secure it needs to be an Online Backup. That your system shows an attached network drive that’s really your backup volume. And that your websites, pc’s, blogs, servers, etc can be backed up. with just one account.

Find the internet backup services that will work for you and do it now. Find the services with these features and get backed up now. Get it done. don’t be like those that can’t recover because their provider lost their data. Protect your data and make certain that you don’t suffer the fate that Journalspace users are suffering through right now.
